A scheme which helps under-18s become active in sport could be scrapped under plans for a new generation of funding.

The Government is poised to announce its plans next week with an annual grant to schools based on how well their students participate in sport across the whole of England.

A Government spokesperson yesterday confirmed that the scheme was still being reworked in consultation with academies.
